Although we provide exceptional customer service in all of our venues, it was our team at CCT Venues-Smithfield that deservedly won this award. The CCT Venues-Smithfield team is small but perfectly formed. There are seven permanent staff members based there, many of whom have been working for CCT Venues for over a decade, including the lovely Maria Rosario, our Event Host, who has been a part of the team since 2007, having worked up the career ladder with us. Our Head Chef, Shane Fowler, has been part of the team since 2008 and is renowned for his Canadian dry humour and superb vegetarian food. The team is headed up by Chris Jones, our Events & Operations Manager, AKA the life and soul of the venue and is regularly mentioned by name in feedback from clients, as well as Simone Coroma our Event Executive, who acts as the main point of contact for clients in the lead up to their event.
Our approach to customer service is to go above and beyond to ensure our clients receive a consistently friendly, personable, and helpful service. The team pride themselves on their ‘all hands on deck’ attitude, and there is little perception of hierarchy at this venue. The CCT Venues-Smithfield team are genuinely caring people with high standards, who are happy to be back to servicing clients’ post-pandemic. If you read some of the Google Reviews that have been left by our clients, you can see that the quality of the service provided is a constant theme that runs through the comments.
One of the areas of customer service in which we particularly excel is our food offering, which always receives great feedback. This is summed up by a couple of recent comments on our feedback forms: “The catering staff were so lovely & friendly. Great to chat to them. Food not only fabulous but great flavours and beautifully presented” and “The boys in the kitchen delivered food that was beyond greatness today!”. We offer all-day catering for those on a DDR package, and it always comprises fresh, locally sourced ingredients, with vegetarian and vegan options available as standard.
Another area that is constantly mentioned in our feedback is the team’s general willingness to help clients out, whether it’s with challenging AV requirements, providing a prayer room, popping out for an ‘emergency birthday cake’ for a delegate, or helping to carry a cup of coffee because the client is on crutches, nothing is too much trouble for the Smithfield team!
A recent example of where the team have gone above and beyond with their customer service is when a long-standing client wanted to return to hybrid training with us, but had new (and very specific) room and AV requirements. In order to make this work for them, the team reconfigured a room specifically for the client, removing an internal partition, and installing permanent equipment and a resource centre. This was all undertaken at no additional charge, but as part of a long standing and on-going client relationship.
As you can see from this snapshot, the team at Smithfield are extremely dedicated to their jobs and will do whatever it takes to keep our clients happy and to keep them coming back to us time and time again and therefore, we are extremely proud of them for being recognised in the 2022 London Venue & Catering Awards.
